"Forced to Marry Him: A Lifetime of Tradition and the Will to Break It' won an award! This memoir won in the category of Women's Issues in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Winning this award is a huge achievement for Davinder who knows that every single word written in this book was worth it if it can help save the life of another girl who might find some courage by reading the book and escaping a forced marriage. Many times forced marriage can lead to honor killings, domestic violence and other horrific abuses. Davinder knew that speaking up and telling her story had to be done as it is only when we tell our stories that we can create change.
